Is it really the last day of 2019!? Wow guys that just flew by didn’t it…? Well bring on 2020! It’s Trending Tuesday!!! We had the absolute pleasure of being able to interview one of our own local, insanely talented Cake Artisans Kelsie Mellott, owner of Hey Honey Cakery to get the scoop on what delightful sweet treats are trending for 2020.
So, give it up for Kelsie!
She tells us this year line indentations in frosting and smooth swirls are out and edible glitter, cascading flowers, edible lace and gold (lots of gold) are IN! The beautiful thing about cake artistry is not only will it be a delicious treat for you and your guests to enjoy but it is also a centerpiece to tie in the room, accessories, colors and over all aesthetic of any bride’s dream wedding. Kelsie urges brides to step outside of their comfort zone with their cake, as the cake should be just as unique and spectacular as the bride could have ever dreamed. Kelsie states “Brides tend to come to me using words like “simple and elegant” then end up leaving their consultation with the cake of their dreams!” She can make wonderful masterpieces using flowers from the wedding or florist to create a cascading flow for an
eye-catching delight that will fit perfectly into the bride’s vision and dream. This year they have used lots of beautiful, and delicate accents like lace or gold to give a little vintage or modern splash to their client's cakes. Kelsie says she is always ready to guide her clients on how to plan and design the perfect cake and if the client would like she is happy to create a custom design from scratch. “We always strive to create that perfect masterpiece to sit boldly in view and wow the couple, their family, and guest.”
